§ 9-138. Industrial waste collection.

Latest version.
  • (a)

Industrial waste may be collected by the city from such establishments, as defined in this article; provided, that such establishments furnish bulk containers which can be collected by city equipment; and, provided, that such waste shall be limited to a quantity equal to that of four (4) six-cubic-yard bulk containers, which shall be serviced not more than three (3) times per week.

    (b)

To avoid damage to city equipment, such containers shall not be used for the disposal of small scrap metal, iron or similar materials. Small scrap metal, iron and similar materials shall be separated and will be collected by special pick-up. Reference in this section to small scrap metal, iron and similar materials shall in no way be constructed to mean junk automobiles, trucks, equipment or other similar bulk material, which shall be the sole responsibility of the owner for removal. When industrial garbage service exceeds seventy-two (72) cubic yards of waste disposal per week, the city shall charge a fee of four dollars and fifty cents ($4.50) per cubic yard based on the size of the bulk container serviced.

    (c)

Any industrial establishment requiring a special pickup shall be charged at the rate of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per hour, or any fraction thereof. Waste not placed in a bulk container, but collected from an industrial establishment shall be considered a special pick-up.
