§ 3-21. Fees for boarding animals and administrative charges.

All animals which are eligible for release and return to owners shall be released after payment of the sum of five dollars ($5.00) for each day or part of a day such animal is impounded, plus an administrative fee of ten dollars ($10.00). Provided, in the event that the same animal is impounded a second time during the twelve (12) months immediately following being released to the owner, an administrative fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) shall be paid prior to releasing the animal. Provided further, in the event that the same animal is impounded a third or subsequent time during the twelve (12) months immediately following being released to the owner, an administrative fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) shall be paid prior to releasing the animal. All fees provided herein are cumulative and an addition to any fine which may be imposed. Payments for boarding fees and administrative fees shall be made payable to the agency in charge of the county animal shelter.
